Roma Rainbow Choir

The Roma Rainbow Choir was established in 2006 and was the first LGBTQI* choir in Italy supporting and promoting awareness and events on LGBTIQ issues since its inception. There are currently about 30 singers under the direction of Maestro Francesco Leineri who joined us in 2020 and who also arranges our repertoire of contemporary pieces.

Since 2019, the RRC has been the official choir of the Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale Mario Mieli (Mario Mieli Homosexual Culture Circle), one of the most important organizations in Italy in the defense of the rights of LGBTQI* people.

The cultural proposal includes, after many years, a repertoire that explores almost 600 years of music history, from madrigals to contemporary pop.
Among the many activities of the choir there are some unmissable appointments, such as the concert linked to the World Day for the fight against AIDS (Rainbow Music Against AIDS), and the concert for Roma Pride, the initiatives linked to the Day of Remembrance (January 27) and the TDOR.
