The choir was founded in 1993 as “Kirschblüten” in Leipzig. It is the first and the only gay choir in the eastern side of Germany. In 2003 we have changed choir leader and the name too. Since this time we perform under the name “Die Tollkirschen”. We are more mature, more biting, more poisonous as the nature of Tollkirschen (deadly nightshade – Belladonna).
In this year we celebrate two anniversary. 30 years gay choir singing in Leipzig and 20 years “Die Tollkirschen”. On 23rd of September 2023 we will have a big party in Leipzig.
